Where the Wild Things Are, the new drama of childhood by Spike Jonze, debuted at number one at the Box Office this week, taking in $32.5 million.  Law Abidding Citizen opened in second place with $21.3 million in earnings.  Paranormal Activity, helped by a widening release, actually moved up from fourth last week to third this week, earning $20.2 million.  Couples Retreat fell from first to fourth with $17.9 million, and The Stepfather opened in fifth place with $12.3 million.

The New Yorker has a lengthy and quite interesting article about James Cameron, covering not only Avatar - his latest, maybe greatest - but also the man: his tumultuous marriages, his obsessions, his God complex.

Jackie Earle Haley - the best part of The Watchmen - is up for the role as the baddy in the Green Latern film.

The full trailer for the Russian film Black Lightning is up - directed by the man behind Wanted and other visual spectacles of films.

In game news, the first reviews for Borderlands are screaming out of the gate - generally quite positive!

And a couple more early reviews for Dragon Age, Bioware's spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate franchise - these out of Europe, and also very positive.
